About SYLQENN
Flat first
A SYLQENN piece is a flat sheet before it is a card holder: one die-cut blank, a few folds, a rivet or two, no thread.
It starts flat.
Every SYLQENN piece begins as a drawing: a closed red outline for the cut, dashed lines for the folds, small circles for the rivets. There is no seam allowance on it, because there is no seam.
We publish that drawing — the dieline — on every product page and in the dieline library. If you can read it, you know how the piece closes, how many layers it has and how big it is before it ever arrives.

One press.
A steel-rule die — thin blades bent to the outline and set in a board — presses the whole shape out of the hide in one stroke: edges, thumb notch, slots and rivet holes together. That is why the edges are clean and every piece of a pattern is the same.

Two folds, sometimes eight.
The Mono folds once. The Trine folds twice. The Tray Coin Purse folds eight times to stand up as a tray. Full-grain leather holds a crease and softens where it bends, so the piece gets easier to use, not looser.
Brass, not thread.
Where a wallet would be sewn, ours is riveted. A solid brass rivet goes through both layers and is set. There is no thread to fray and no seam to split. Some pieces close with a brass press stud instead of a flap tuck.

Straight about materials.
| Material | Where | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Full-grain cowhide leather, about 1.4 mm | Most pieces | The outer grain layer of the hide, not sanded or embossed. Grain and small marks vary. We do not claim a tanning method or origin. |
| PU-coated microfibre, about 1.2 mm (not leather) | Slipcase, Hinge, Kite Coin Pouch, Mini Tray, Kite Charm, Pinwheel Charm | Always marked PU on the product page. |
| Solid brass | Rivets, press studs, charm clips | Darkens slowly with handling. |
| Steel | Split key rings |
We do not describe our pieces as handmade, RFID-blocking or waterproof.
One colourway, the whole pocket.
Caramel, Espresso, Black, Sand and Signal Red. Card holders, key pouches, coin purses, neck sleeves and charms come in the same hides and close with the same brass rivet — so what shares your pocket can match. The pocket list puts a set together for you.
